The LT4 heads stock are better flowing than the stock LT1's. For maximum effort, the general consensus is that the LT1's can actually be ported to flow better than the LT4s, possibly due to increased material in the head. I won't pretend to give you advice on what to do, however, I will point out that LT4 heads will not work with an LT1 intake manifold without some machine work. If you go the LT4 route, I suggest buying the LT4 intake.

yes, lt1's can be ported better than stock LT4's. Stock lt1's however don't compare to stock lt1's.

Having your current heads ported will be cheaper and theyll flow better than the LT4 heads.
