Default electrical problem spreading....3rd brake light

Hey guys, A little while ago I posted about my headlights being drained from my fog lights and teh high beam indicator comming on. Jim sent me a wiring diagram to try and figure it out (thanks again Jim). To make a long story short I couldn't fix this problem and now my third brake light isn't working either. Has anyone else experianced anything similar? Is there a fuse or ground that controls the third brakelight only? I'd really appreciate any advice!

I would think you have some bad relays.

they do wear out... and they aren't very expensive. I would replace the brake lite relay.

as for the headlite problem... another bad relay or relays could be causing that, too.

Also - consider cleaning EVERY bulb socket you have...

Make sure the electrical connectors are plugged in solidly at the bottoms of each strut rod.

I didn't even think of either. I'll check the connectors now. Where are the relays?

3rd brake light is powered by the the brake switch & is easy to troubleshoot. Power to the switch is on the orange wire from the stop hazard fuse which is always hot. Output to the brake light is on the light blue wire. So, check for 12 volts on the orange wire and then with the brake pedal depressed, check for 12 volts on the output side. Of course make sure it doesn't have power on the output side when the pedal isn't depressed too. Post whatever results you get if you need further help.
