I saw this product at mid-america designs and it is $40. Says it boosts horsepower. Is this legitimate or is it just another useless product aimed at people like me that don't know much about performance mods?
Good paperweight but you know anything is worth a shot.. I bought one. I got one fairly cheap though check around you can get one pretty cheap. Just wait till a forum member sells one. You can get one around 15 to 20 dollars if you are patient. You will never notice a difference on the seat of the pants scale that i can tell you for sure. :D

Even TPIS admits they don't do crap for LT1's. But on L98's you will get a SMALL gain. Make that VERY SMALL. I actually did notice a difference in my '86.
I put one in my 95 and I did notice a difference. You may think this was just placebo effect, but I really could feel the difference. Not huge, but perceptable.
TPIS has air flow numbers that show it works and someone here recently posted dyno proof of a few HP (like 3-5hp) gain.
However, for first mods install a 160 deg stat & fan sw for much more gain for less $$. Also toss the "frisbee" (see my site) and do the TB coolant bypass. Take the $40 and buy a K&N air filter and cut the air filter lid for a nice gain. These should net you around 20-25hp gain for under $100.
Clean up exhaust gas flow for a very nice hp gian.

Re: throttle body air foil? (movin)
I picked mine up used and imagine you wouldn't have a hard time finding one. I think there was one on the for sale forum in the last week or so. I prefer the one that snaps into your intake tubing. Agree with above post about the screw-in type. You'll get a lot of people who think they are worthless, but there have been a couple guys dyno them and found a tiny bit of power.
For $20-$25 used, why not pick one up? For $40-$50 new, I wouldn't pay that.
Air foil is a joke. I have one for LT1 if anyone want it let me know. You can have it for free. I think it still in my garage.

Bruce, I have an 86 and somebody up there said they felt it, I'd be willing to give it try I'll e-mail you! Then if it works out I'll post results here. :D
I dont think the airfoil itself would do that much on a stock vette, but I do think that together with a KN, open air lid, maf screens removed it
will help out a few more horses even if the rest of the car is stock..!!!

50 bucks for 5 horsepower is a good deal. It works by smoothing airflow entering the throttle body. All of the aftermarket throttle bodies incorporate this design. Why would that be?? People spend hundreds of dollars on cat back exhaust instead of just mufflers for the benefit of mandrel bent pipe. Smooths airflow. Hmmmm.... Familiar theme. Like I said before TPIS will be the first ones to tell you that it doesn't do anything for LT1's. If you disregard comments from LT1 owners, plus L98 owners who have never actually USED one, you will draw the conclusion that they DO work. Just don't expect miracles. For the price of a used one, every little bit helps. Same reason everyone buys a K&N and cuts their filter lid.
