Does it matter if the MSD window switch goes before or after the WOT switch? I cant think of a reason it would matter, but I figure Id ask before I did anything.
Also, does anyone have any extra window switch modules they want to sell? My TPI shifts at 5500 rpms so Im looking for modules around 3000 and 5300 rpm.
Well, I had to call NX today to ask them about blow-off valves/tubes so I decided to ask this question too. This is what they told me about the wiring sequence when using a MSD switch. Not sure why they would recommend doing it this way. Can anyone see why their way shouldnt work?
VetteNoob THANKS!! I'm running a MSD window switch, Full throttle switch as well as a Fuel cut-off switch...........and that pic really helps!!
Np, glad I can be of some help. I kinda like Scorp's way better (makes more sense to me anyways) but for some reason, NX told me to do it this way. BTW, do you have an A4 or 4+3? What are your MSD pills going to be set at?
I have a A4.
I'm using a 3000 pill in the MSD window switch for the low RPM side and I bought a MSD RPM Selector (The one with the dial) and will plug that into the other socket set at 5200 RPM's.
The white wire from the MSD box goes to your Tach wire output wire from the distributor I believe. I'll double check when my MSD box gets here or someone who has already installed the MSD box can clarify that.
Since you have a C5, Im not sfamiliar with the LS1 engines, but there is a tach wire from your ignition to your PCM that tells the PCM your current RPM. I would think that would be what you would need to connect it to. You can also give MSD a call and see what their directions are for the LS1 ignition and I bet they will be able to clarify it better for you. Good luck!
