Replaceing Right Side Spark Plugs Right Side 1988 ???
Is there a way of replacing the right side plugs on an 88 without pulling off all the air conditing stuff, as it looks just about impossible to me to get at the front 2 plugs, or am I missing something ???

You can get in there... You will need an extension and maybe a swivel.... You can also take the Fender well (piece of plastic over the A-arm) off, Thats like 6 bolts, That will give some more room

StealDads67 is right. I just remove the entire fenderwell and go straight at those 2 front pugs from the side with an extension. Bonus- your knuckles will remain unscathed.

:iagree: I also took off the wheel, as well as removed the a-arm covers. For #8 I used a SP socket and a box wrench, didn't have enough room for the socket/ratchet assembly. Good luck, plugs, wires and cap/rotor took me about 4hrs last summer. Should be quicker next time.

I too remove the small pannel from the inner right fender well and to into #2 & 4 with a long extension and swivel. I also remove the rear A/C commressor bracket and the two AIR tubes as well as the dip stick.
For #6 I use a short extension and for #8 I use an open-end wrench on the spark plug socket.

Thanks to all that answered, you have saved me many hours of work, I am sure, as many of you know without this forum, we would not learn the tricks that others have learned the hard way. Thanks again !!

And if you don't know this little trick... use about a 6" piece of rubber hose over the spark plug as a wrench to screw the new ones in until they seat. Then use the wrench to do the final torque. Use anti sieze also.

It is only 4 bolts to take off the compressor after loosening the serpentine belt.
Be carefule moving it out of the way and those last two spark plugs are a snap.
Did mine back in july. took all of an hour to get them out, put anti-sieze on the new ones and install them.
