ZF6 is the tranny used from 89-96, built by ZF in Germany. Its just stronger than the T56, little harder to work on because the germans like to do things different.

You have 3.45s in a D44 stock. Most people like 4.10s.

Get the Dana (Viper) 4.10's for your LT4, you won't be disappointed.

You just need the ring and pinion. I would also get a full bearing kit as well. You do have to drop the diff. to swap the gears. I think I paid about $270 for the gears and kit.

I paid $300 for my Dana OEM 4.10's, and $350 for the install. Unfortunately the person I bought the gears from no longer sells them, he now recommends the Viper 4.10's.

I got my gears from Randy's Ring and Pinion. website http://www.ringpinion.com, phone 1-888-285-6606. I bought the dana 3.92's. I run the 1/4 and with that ratio I don't have to shift to fifth. I get 20 mpg in town and 27 on the highway, highway mileage went down but town went up. By the way, Randy's doesn't call the gears dana but when you get them look on the pinion shaft and it clearly is stamped dana. Paid approx. $290.00 which included shipping and shim set, no berings, but mine only had 30,000 on the clock.

Good luck and it is probably the best single mod for the money.
