Time to replace the cap and rotor in my L98.
I started to look around and figure that maybe I should get another coil also!?
Any suggestions on kits from Accel / MSD or something??
Thanks for any input :)
Yes definitely get the Hypertech cap/rotor/coil from Summit. However, do not use the nylons screws that come with the rotor. They're known to work themselves loose, ... re-use the metal ones from your GM rotor. :)
Save yourself some money and get a Conrad cap & rotor from Autozone. Its around $12-$15 depending on what your Autozone has its price set at. It has brass terminials and metal screws.
p.s.
The MSD HEI coil and low resistance bushing is what I run. Looks stock from the outside.

The Accell cap is a good one, but I know two guys that had meltdowns with their coil. Just burned a hole through the top. The other two mentioned earlier are the way to go. Also, the MSD Superconductor wires are excellent.

This just happened to me. Car started running bad, checked under the dist cap to find the screws had come completely loose! The car actually ran that way for a while, hard to believe but true.
I had the Accel cap, rotor and super coil but they didn't last very long. Now I have the Autozone Conrad red cap and like Scorp said, it's every bit as good at about half the price. Now having a red cap with a gray super coil sticking out the top is a different matter!!
