89 L98 HARD-STARTS @#$@$@!%@
I have an 89 vette with a modified L98 motor, which hates to start up when it is cold, not sure what it is that is causing problem. After it has warmed up no matter what the temperature is no problems starting or if it is 80+ degrees out. The problem is after it has sat for more than 8 hours in cold (below 60) temperatures. I have to crank it forever and ever b-4 she'll start , unless I close the loop in the temperature sensor in the front of the motor into the intake manifold, then she fires right up, strange but it works. I have tried changing the sensor twice, new fuel pump, filter and still no good. Any other suggestions??? Thanks to all who reply.

There is a connection in the wires about ten inches from the sensor that could be corroded.But if your jumping the wires at the sensor then your jump is going thru the connection Im mentioning.
I would say barring that, it would have to be the chip in your computer isnt programmed correctly or bad computer.
Do you have a reflashed chip?

I'll check the wires out tomorrow, my jumpers I connected are right at the sensor which may override, but my chip is after market and has been reburned about 4 times, TPIS, thanks for the tip!

One more time through, no breaks in the wire, any other suggestions???? please help!, If chip needs to be reburned, does anybody know of any one in the Albany, New York area, so I don't have to mail out and wait a week. Thanks again for the replies.
