The light has to do with emissions. Maybe a bad sensor. If you just got gas and did tighten the cap all the way, that can cause it to come on. Re-tighten and drive for a few on-off trips. Then clear the code out of the computer and see if it comes back on. Otherwise, you need a scanner to pull the code. Autozone can do it for free, or your mechanic should have have a scan tool to get the code.

Thanks for the info....but how do you clear the code?......I need a vacation...
Many parts stores will read and reset the codes as well.
It may also clear on it's own if the problem corrects itself, and you go thru enough drive cycles (i.e. turning the key on and off won't do it, but a few half hour drives might).
You can clear the codes by disconnecting the battery for awhile; but buying a scantool is a must if you are going to do most of your own work. I bought a scantool off of a group purchase (gp) on the forum. Not sure if the gp is still available, but if not I'm sure there are a lot of others on the forum who still need one. Maybe a new gp could be arranged.

Sorry, Forgot the mention how to clear the codes. Someone already answered for me (dissconnect the battery for a minute or two).
A Scan toll is a big help working on these cars.
Good luck!!
Well, you guys were right. all I had to do was disconnect the battery for a bit and when I started it up again...No Problemo...drove it all the way to Venice and back, and smooth sailing.
I would still pull the code, the light won't just go on for no reason and it should have stayed in memory no? I just pulled a code on mine today and found out my MAP sensor was screwed up, the car ran fine but it's better now.
