I've seen quite a few people say that Performance Friction are a good pad.
Z-Rated® Performance Pad
Carbon Metallic® Street Pad
Which is best for street use?
I run the Carbon Metallic on my S-10 Blazer. Performs well but, lot's of dust. I go through a set of front pads every 12-14 months. The good thing is, they come with a lifetime warrantee.
On the Vette i run EBC Greenstuff...more than pleased! :yesnod:
Re: Brake Pads? Any recomendations? (Hardcorvette)
I had an '89 camaro with a front 12" (1.1" thick rotor) 1LE setup and rear bear (same as the stock disc just an actual 12" rotor) with PFC Z rated pads all the way around. The brakes bit so well, if you did not have the seat belt on you would eject out of your seat a few inches.
The brake set up on my camaro with PFC Z pads felt much better than the J55 brakes on my vette now, despite being practically the same setup (except for the front 13" rotor on the vette; The larger brake booster and tricked out suspension on the camaro I'm sure had everything to do with the overall better feel).
How were the PF-Z rated pads as far as dusting goes?
I have carbon metallics and they spew black dust like a ****, mainly on the fronts. Looking to switch to a decent street use pad that has low dusting yet doesn't mind occasional spirited driving.

I just put PowerStop drilled rotors in front and rear on my car and reserached the topic a little.............bottom line to me from reading all the posts: Go to a Ford dealer and buy the front pads for the 94 to 02 Cobra. They aer identical in everything, including material and they are $45 a set. Everything else won't be worth the price and won't give you better braking performance.

Dusting is a direct trade off for stopping power. You might get less dust, but the brake effort is increased.
