Well, I took a decent ride tonight, on my way home from work, went by the beach, drove around for a while.. Car didn't go over 200, and it's about 55-60 out still. So, I'm thinking that burping the car really DID help quite a bit, so far!! I'm going to attack the cleaning job tomorrow, since it's supposed to be pouring rain all day :(

Just an idea, but would the smaller version of a shop vac, with the crevice tool work, to reach in and get the bigger things (leaves/paper, etc)?? Then you could snap the little furry carpet tool on the end of the wand, and "vacuum" the fins?
The best way on an L-98 is to take the 5 or so small 10-MM bollts from the front side of the cowling under the air cleaner out. Then there are 2-3 bolts on each side of the top housing @ 1/2 botls.

THen the shroud will not come off compeltely, but I took a pair of shears and cut the shround in one spot so that I could get the shroud over the tranny cooler line, then everything is loose and you can tilt it forwards and back.

If you have not done this yet, I assure you that you wil be amazed.

Last weekend I founf a good size LIZARD carcass, pine needles, cigarette butts, leaves, a hamburger wrapper and misc other doodie from our days of lving in Florida!

It is time well spent for sure, 1-hour tops!

The process for an LT1 looks like a PITA... I could be looking at it through my inexperience Vette eyes, but it doesn't look like a simple task??

PITA but well worth the effort. Made a big difference on mine. Depending upon your area it is probably an annual ritual. Best description I have heard so far is we are driving a carp on wheels. Bottom feeder cleans all the crap off the road. :steering:

Well, my car spent it's life in CA, and was brought to MA a week before I got it, and since then, it's been in the garage, waiting for Old Man Winter to leave! Doesn't look like much crap's in there, but, it's hard to tell what might be lurking... I like the Carp reference though, good one

Hey, I saw, at the top of this page, coincidentally, a banner for a Debris Guard and advertised it as "Tired of all that trash up inside your radiator area". I clicked on the banner, and it was a dead link... What's up with that?? I was wondering if anyone has created one of these and mass produced it yet?!?!?!?
