Default a/c compressor
on an 86 what is the difference on a short shaft or long shaft compressor? Does it make a difference and how do you tell wich one you have.

Didn't know there was any since the '86 uses the R4. However the AC Delco web page lists 3 OEM part #'s that take a different replacement. You can check it out at http://www.acdelco.com

I was checking the napa web page for a new ac and it asked for a long or short shaft and it did say it weas an R4. What is the R4?
