I found a guy that will trade me a 99 Lamborghini Diablo kit car made from a Feiro. He is making it now it will have a LT1 in it with about 350 HP. The guy seems to know what he is doing I have seen MANY pics and I have seen these things sell for good money should I trade???
i probably would... mainly cuz i think you'd be getting the better end of the deal if he builds a nice car. plus i'm not crazy about the 84-89's. if you could sell it for 20K then you could upgrade to a newer/older vette. no offense, but i doubt you could get 20K for your 84...
i don't think i'd put any Lambo emblems on it though, that is just perpetrating too hard. kit cars are cool to me as long as they don't pretend to be the real thing. you should put some exhaust system on there that deosn't make it sound like a traditional american V8.
just IMHO
Can you post some pics of this thing? I've seen alot of kit cars, and there are very VERY few that closely replicate the cars they are supposed to - Lamborghini kits included. Who's the manufacturer of the kit itself?
If the replica really does look like a Lambo (meaning that all the proportions are correct, and the details acurately replicate the real car), and the guy building it gives the car a decent paint job and finishes it off proper, then I would definitely consider it. The Lambourghini kits that are based on the Fiero chassis are some of the hardest kits to assemble, so from a standpoint of labour alone you stand to walk away with the better deal.
Of course, you haven't mentioned the condition of your '84. If your '84 is prestine, then I may think twice (sorry SonnyinVA, but I love all C4s whether an '84 coupe or a '96 GS rag-top).
Keep one thing in mind though: replicas/kit cars occupy a very small niche market. Even if you do feel like you could get alot more money for this Lambo replica than you could for your '84, you need to look at how long it will take you to actually sell it; an '84 in any condition is not hard to sell at all.
