whos using an inline pump for a booster pump when the nitrous is on and the intank pump for normal use?And if so is the intank pump working harder then normal to pump through the inline pump when the inline is not in use.It seems to be working fine right now,but want to make sure itll be ok.
Re: running intank pump and inline pump for nitrous? (patsnitrovette)
Several years ago I installed a procharger kit on my car at that time it was just a stock 350 the kit came with a inline booster pump and it ran all the time worked ok untill I started making mods then not enough fuel. The booster pump will cause the intank pump to pump more because it is not pumping pressure but the intank pump is still limited as to how much it can pump. I think I would run the booster pump all the time or install a bigger intank pump and do away with the booster pump.
Re: running intank pump and inline pump for nitrous? (black bart)
The best way to do it is to run another fuel line just for the nitrous pump. You could have a hydraulic hose shop make you a high pressure rubber fuel line for like $50 with fittings.
Re: running intank pump and inline pump for nitrous? (patsnitrovette)
The BEST way to do it is run a completely separate fuel system for the nitrous system. That's what I do... I have a fuel cell mounted where the battery used to be (pics are posted in the "tech" section under "Battery Relocation"); it is plumbed into a low pressure carb Holley Blue pump then to a regulator and finally into the fuel solenoid. The advantages of using a low pressure system is the tunability offered by it. I run 93 in the tank for the motor and VP C16 in the fuel cell for the N2O.
