Alright gang, so I have been fighting my car for about 2-3 months now only getting about 6-8 hours to work on it a month. Well Friday night I finally got the problems resolved and loaded it on the trailer for raceday on Saturday.
First run I was expecting around a 12.0 @ 118-120. This is what I had been getting last year with th Nittos. Now I was running my 2 year old ET Streets that have seen better days, but they still work pretty good and the new skinnies I got from JD.
Fist run of the day just getting the launch technique down...11.68@125.25. Found out later the MPH was off by 3mph in the lane I ran, but I was still excited as my prior best was an 11.6 on the juice with half a clutch disk (the left side was shattered, not just worn half way). The 60' was a decent 1.873.
The rest of the runs were all in the 11's (even the one pedaling the guy at the big end to take the win) but the best run came at the end of the day. Sun went down, weather (and car) cooled off, track got nice and sticky. Second run of competition and the results were :
Me-----------------------Him
Dialed in : 11.70------------ 11.10
RT: .678 (lost the race right there) .555
60' 1.736---------------------1.529
1/8 7.474---------------------6.971
MPH 97.85-------------------95.35
1/4 11.544-------------------11.139
MPH 119.20------------------115.95 (this lane is 3mph high)
Worst part about it is that I had a half a car length on him so I let off at about 1200'. Figure I may have left .08-.15 sitting on the table. I could kick myself for just not going ***** to the wall considering he had a pretty darn good package that run (+.094).
As the day was done, I wished I had brought the Nitrous bottle just so I could get an easy 10 under the belt. I was super stoked the day of the race as I beat my previous motor only run of 11.78@117.
Got the Speed Demon billet outer spindles on order and getting my rear end fixed (clutch packs are fried) so my next track day will be an all out event for sure. :D
Congratulations on the great times. Which lane was high, the right or left? It seems they have been having some problems with the mph for some time now.
Thanks Chad, it is the left lane that was high, and I think it has been that way for the past three years I have been going out there. Darren had very consistent runs and ran 110, 110, 113, 110 (r, r, l , r).
