Default Purge canister...

Guys, I am not running anything to the purge canister, what is involved with just removing it? I would like to hear what some that got rid of it did. Thanks.

Ski:

Just plug off the vacuum line, you'll be fine.

and use a vented gas cap I think.
Does the computer still think it's there? Is it possible to program the purge duty cycle out of it?

I disconnected mine while waiting for the arrival on a new one. After driving for awhile the tank builds up lottsa pressure....so a vented gas cap is neccesary :seeya

I haven't not touch my canister and every time I fill up the tank, I have a lot of pressure built up, the vacuum is huge! What should I do to address this?

I have a similar, but different problem :D My tank is under serious pressure, not vacuum. When I go to get gas I have to crack the cap and let it bleed off the pressure before I can open it lall the way.

BTW where is the cannister located, I was going to look into the possibility it or the lines leading to it are clogged.

The Canister is located at the front of the engine compartment on driver side, I had the same problem with pressure in the gas tank, My cannister turned out to have a crack in it, so I replace it. I still have some pressure in tank but not as bad. It is possible that one or both of the lines are clogged somewhere. Mine is an 86 :chevy
