If you want to spend $900 on an exhaust system then go for it. I'll admit that it's a pretty system but I can't justify the price. I honestly don't think they sound all that great either.
I run flowmasters and they are obviously not for everybody but the fact is there are plenty of exhaust systems out there that perform just as well and cost a lot less. I would encourage you to ride in as many different cars as you can before you make the decision that Corsa is the best. I honestly wanted the Corsa exhaust fore my Vette before I ever had a Vette. I thought it was the best because everybody raved about it. I decided to buy the flowmasters due to cost and I couldn't be happier.
IMHO Corsa is kidna a cult, kinda like Hurst (can't talk I belong to B&M cult), and Zaino (can't talk there either, I'm a member of that cult)
A year or so ago I went to a ZR-1 gathering and I'd say over half of the cars there had Corsa exhaust. They didn't really sound THAT good and it kinda made me sick, much like that car show I went to in which EVERYBODY had torque thrust wheels. As soon as everybody has the same thing the effect kinda goes away.
Remember, buy a Corsa exhaust and be unique, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.
In the long run you've gotta do what makes ya happy
I like the corsa's. There is a reason they are so popular. If I want to hear the engine, I put it in 5th on the interstate. To quieten it completely, I put into 6th (overdrive). Of course the Hot Cam makes it sound a little nicer in my opinion, too.
I found the corsas for $745 in a promotional price break from a vendor down in Tx. a year or so ago. Don't really remember the name of the place.
I like it for the exact reason mentioned above. If you wanna hear it, you can, if not, you won't.
If you do a lot of highway driving or use your vette as your daily driver, you will want Corsa's.
The advantage to the Corsa system is the removal of exhaust resonance. And beleive me - its the only system I have heard that has removed it completely.
At 1800rpm in 6th gear, all you hear is tire rumble, engine mechanicals and a bit of wind noise... but little exhaust echo.
I have no complaints with the sound of Corsa system, and before headers the resonance would disappear completely in o/d on the highway.
But as nice as the tips look when new, they will never look like that again. The 2 inside tips get black buildup that no amount of cleaning will restore.
Personally, I am thinking of changing mufflers with a different style tip, so that the black carbon build up will not show so much.
I have Corsas and Borlas. I've also had stock as well as muffler eliminators. All are good and have a place in the Corvette world. You've received much good advice in this thread but perhaps the best discussion on the issue was by Nathan Plemons ... and he is absolutely right that you should listen to as many as possible and ride in the cars as well. Then pick the set up YOU like. You'll never regret it. Good luck.

if you change the muffler, you screw the entire design of the corsa's.
they use a sound cancellation system. at low rpm, the sound goes into the chamber and gets bounced around. as the sound comes forward, it negates the sound going back. works kinda like an expansion tank on a 2 stroke.
the inner tips do all the work, the outer tip is the pressure release for the sound canceling chamber.
at full throttle, the exhaust blasts straight through to the inner tip.
I've had several different systems on my LT1 and L98, and the Corsa is far and away the best in terms of quality and fit, not to mention lack of resonance. No contest. Anyone can bend pipes and weld tips to mufflers, Corsa actually did some acoustical engineering when designing the system, which is important if you don't like skull crushing resonance.
I have my Corsa system on order right now with TBYRNE Motorsports. They charge $759.99. This is the best price I've found so I jumped on it. They have a web site and you can call them at 877 482-9763.
The Corsa system's fit and finish is phenomenal, and in my opinion the tips look awesome. Yes they are a pain to keep clean but I think it's worth it. Some people may not like the sound, but I do, and I don't regret dropping the $750. They are a little on the quiet side, however I've heard a C4 at a car show that had them with headers, damn it sounded nice (IMHO)
I would be part of the club if the Corsa was lighter. If any of you have ever removed your stock exhaust, you know its heavy...especially the mufflers.
I dont know why Corsa didnt make a titanium exhaust for the C4 like they do for the C5. Guess they figure C4's are dead, and its not worth the investment.
