Default parkin brake handle.

so i installed new rear brake pads and my parking brake became really stiff. held good. but now my handle wont work right. it's like i wore it out. i have actually bent it pulling it up. dont know how. i have to pull up really hard and hold it over towards the door in order to put it back down. how hard is it to just replace the assembly? and where can i get them?

When you installed the rear pads, did you disconnect the parking brake spring on the caliper? Sounds like the auto adjuster activated. Can you easily turn the rear tire in both directions by hand?

It could be the handle, but if it worked fine before I would look elsewhere. When your rear pads are wore out your handle will go almost
to the full extension. When you replace the pads it grabs alot sooner. When
I did mine the handle got firm about 2-3 inches from its resting position. If
your trying to get it to its old position, your over killing the lever and thats why it won't release right.Just give it a little tug and see if it holds. :flag

yea that's what i think it is. my question is how do i get the old assembly off, the handle i mean. i think it might need replacing. i can pull it up but it is real hard to go back down. i have to hold it over to the left really hard. and i just think it's warped. and yea after new pads the travel did get smaller. but i do believe the handle needs replacing. where can i get em?
