I put the 160 in my LT-4 and have not changed the fan on/off. It may help, but I have had no problems what so ever. Car runs about 170-173 on the road, and the hottest it got in town traffic has been 209.
You dont have to, but it would be a good idea to wire in a switch, or since you have made some real mods to your car you should go think about having a custom chip made to do it for you.
Yes yes yes!!!You should get a switch or chip.As long as your rolling it's no big deal, but when you get stuck in traffic your temp is going to rise as high as your stock therm would.I bought a slp chip and I live in Florida, my car hasn't seen 200 degrees since. :steering:

I agree, when you buy a new chip it is generaly set to turn the fans on earlier than stock. Mine tuned them on at 185 if I remember correctly
