Help, Odometer works then shuts off??
Weird things are happening?
After car sits for a while the odometer will work for a couple miles then quits. I replaced the speed sensor and a different ECM and it did not help. Any ideas????

The odometer itself has a single wire that plugs into it.Is this wire loose or coming off?Youll need to take the dash cluster out to see it.

Single wire - OK, I should have my diacom cable by the end of the week and I can check to see if the ECM is receiving the MPH. If it is out comes the cluster.

Wo. Everything else works but the odometer doesnt rack up the miles. Doesnt sound like something I would fix. :D

Reseat your PROM, ensure it is engaged. I bet you are also getting a SYS warning on your display if it is like the 1990. Then wiggle teh wires, first bump you hit is probably causing it to open. Check for an ECM Serial Communications Fault.

Problem occurs with two different ECM's with two different proms. No sys error light displayed. I am hoping a loose connection under dash. I intend to test the signal from speed sensor to dash by using a drill on spare speed sensor.
