Re: Head gasket bore size (Sliding)
I don't think its going to make much difference unless you are shooting for a certain CR. I'm running the 1010s.

Re: Head gasket bore size (Sliding)
I would go for the smallest diameter that doesn't over hang the edge of the bore. .7 cc will have little effect on the CR. I would be more concerned with keeping the crevice volume to a minimum.

1044 is stock with a .051 compression thickness; or use the GM ZZ4 gaskets #12557236.

Re: Head gasket bore size (SunCr)
I found a set of .029 composite heads gaskets here
http://www.flatoutgaskets.com/gaskets/techtips.asp
if you want a little more compression without buying copper gaskets.

Re: Head gasket bore size (ld85)
 I just put a set of Felpro 1010s on my car. I didn't realize that the bore size was 4.166". If I had known about the 1043 with a 4.080" bore size, I would have used them!
I haven't fired the car up yet, but I hope that the 4.166" bore won't be a problem on my car.

Re: Head gasket bore size (TheCorvetteKid)
Well if what SunCr said about 1044 being stock then You don't have to
worry because 1044 is 4.200" bore size.
But I'll go with 1043.

Here's another Try COMETIC
http://www.cometic.com/home/home.htm
I called them for my 406, they have a 4.160 bore .025 gasket, composite, that does not need re-tightening. Problem, is they want $72 per gasket
