Default C-4 6-Speed Bellhousing

Well today while changing the clutch slave cylinder I &*&$#$-up and put a hole in the bellhousing just outboard of the clutch fork, the slave cylinder rod knocked a piece out of the bellhousing about 1 inch square.
My questions are as follows:

Are all C-4 Bellhousings the same and interchangeable, if not which ones are?

Does anyone have the current part number of the correct bellhousing, my book shows the correct part number as 10085208, which comes back from GMPARTSDIRECT as no longer available.

Has anyone every ran a C-4 with a hole in the bellhousing?

I need to replace this ASAP.

Thanks in advance

Hi vettmike,
I'm pretty sure the bellhousing's are different between the ZF and the 4+3 trannies. so you'd be limited to the 89 and up models.
for such a small hole I'd look into having it welded up (by good welder) or just epoxy it up.
as long as its not in an important area (like having a bolt hole in it) then shouldn't effect it much, if at all.
but if you want to replace it, then you'll probably have to get in touch with a used vette parts place.

Hi Mike, I just did this swap. I will not post pic of my original 89's ZF bellhousing as I am too embarrased to show it! It was pretty bad. Big chunck missing between the top two bolt holes, hole in the side by the slave, and 2 stripped bottom bolt holes. I drove many miles like that, a couple of auto-crosses and a bunch of 1/4 mile passes. All that damage was leftover from when my pressure plate lost it's roll pins and they shot out of the BH.
Can't weld these. Yes they are also discontinued.
Please call Chris at Superior Chevrolet in Kansas. 1-800-728-8267. Tell him you are from the corvetteforum to get our discount. Ask for the newer 93+ magnesium BH:

It is not something they keep on the shelves so it will be special ordered and drop shipped to you in approx a week. $130.00 plus $20 shipping.
You will have to transfer your slave cylinder studs. They come off real easy with like a 5/16"(???) socket. Also swap the pivot. That sucker is in good so start soaking it's threads with PB Blaster now. I think it can take a 1 1/8 wrench (one and one eigth inch) on the inside and a 12mm hex wrench on inside. (after you remove the locking bolt over it).
Note the vents in the new BH. It weighs much less also.
I asked ZFDoc Bill if he had any used ones to sell. "Nope".
