I've got a '97 Camaro Z28, with a Baer Track brake kit on it. This is marketed as a "ZR1" brake kit, and has 2-piston PBR calipers, and 13" x 1.1" rotors, bolt pattern is 5 on 4.75". I'm thinking this stuff is used on more than just the ZR1 vettes, maybe the GS, and maybe lots of other '88-96 vettes. If anyone knows that specifically, I'd appreciate an answer so I really know.
In any event, I've purchased replacement rotors from KVR (though shipping to the US from Canada is pricey) and from AutoZone/Aimco in the past. I'd really like to find a source here in California or nearby, for these rotors. Baer's are pricey, and I want slotted ones, which leaves Aimco out. Zinc plated is nice, but not necessary. Does anyone know of a good source? I run thru them fairly often, which is why I'm looking for a better price.
I can tell you from reading the Corvette Black Book that the black 2 piston calipers with silver "corvette" lettering came on the 1996 Collector Ed. and Grand Sport, under the Z15 and Z16 options. They may be the same as the 'heavy duty' brakes that came with the Z07 susp. option of the 1990's, but I'm not sure. Maybe you already know this.
I just got a set of knuckles, hubs, rotors and calipers off a "96 C.Ed. at my local boneyard. I'm looking forward to installing these parts along with braided SS lines on my car. I assumed Baer and Brembo would both make rotors for this application. I was planning on getting drilled/slotted 2-piece rotors as a final upgrade once the stock rotors wore out.
I'd be interested in what you find out there.
Thanks jz. That helps on defining the range. I found a guy local to me (speedtoys.com) who carries zr1 rotors, so I didn't end up finding out any more about what all vettes these would fit. $140 apiece is what they ended up with (slotted, not plated)
Baer does carry the rotors you/I need, it's just that they're a bit more pricey.
If the brake kit you have truly uses the ZR1 rotors, then any '88-'96 Z51 or Z07 will use the same rotors, as well as any Vette with the J55 brake option...any C4 with the 13" front rotors used the same ones as the ZR1.

:iagree:
The rotors from the 96 CE and GS have different part numbers. The only difference is the CE/GS rotors have been painted/coated to reduce rusting.
