i have the same problem with my vette.. an 86. i was told the module in the distributor might cause the same problem otherwise i'd also guess fuel pressure, let me know if it runs any better with a new filter
I have an 86 as well, same problem with misfiring under load,,,Here's what did that DID NOT cure the problem,,,,new plugs, new TPS properly adjusted to .54 volts at idle, new ignition module,,,next will be plugs wires....crossing fingers
Update: Although the wires weren't arcing anywhere I could see, an ohmmeter test confirmed a wire was open/broken internally, The spark apparently would only jump the internal gap under low demand

Make sure plug wires are seated correctly on distributor.
If that and wires don't resolve the problem, check for injector issues
