Question: I have a 92 that I bought about a year ago. It has a single sided belt. Does this mean the prior owner put an underdrive pulley on my vette? How can I tell for sure?
DieL,
What was your car? Your sig. indicates a 2002 C5. I'm interested in
seeing if this mod would work on a vette LT1 motor. I don't know if the
LS1 has a cam driven water pump, but that the LT1 does and that makes
the gain less than for a Mustang.
I have a 1993 car, so I am in the same boat as Ray. I am really confused
as to what I would need if I elected to go with this mod...
I have both. My 93 ive had for 6 years. I have the asp underdrive on it now and a mezziere pump. ALl i have is simple mods on my car and it runs 110+ mph in the quarter mile. For me, the pulleys Definitely work.
dscottr: Im not sure about the 92, it seems the owner may have changed over to a single sided belt not necessarily for pulleys. My 93 came original with a single sided belt. The change to single must have ocuured during the production run in 93.
raysur: do you want to sell the asp? i am interested, i have a few friends who may want it.

Heres some clues i guess.. does your car have a low charge at idle? if it does maybe theres only an underdrive crank pulley. if it doesnt check the alternator pulley. if its very small (forgot the diameters- think 1 7/8) it could be the crank and alternator set. if the alternator pulley is stock sized and you have no charging issues u still have the stock pieces. theres pics of the stock pulley and what it looks like in the archives... search pulley. Just take a look and you should know.
