on the side of my console the plastic thing that goes aroud the shifter and cup holders is begining to peel is there any way to fix this what if i could take that off and the piece infront of the radio could i sand and paint these pieces to match my the outside of my car is this possible if not would i need something special do to this, or do i just sand and paint
Before you start your project, I would recommend that you take it to an auto paint shop for some free professional advice, and an estimate. If the cost is reasonable (you decide), let them do it.
there is a post in the archives where some one used the rubber dip for tools and thined it out and sprayed it on. if noone else has it i saved it on my home pc, i'll post the link tonight.
I used the spray can of DipIt. The black doesn't quite match, it's a shade blacker than the Dulso. Easily noticable in bright light. Also, I used 3 coats and it's starting to get nicked up a bit after about 5 months.
I don't think I'd recommend this for a permanent solution.
I may try it again with 6-8 coats, but I don't think it will stop the nicks from starting it pealing again
