Cut airbag wire for MOMO?

Cut airbag wire for MOMO?
For those who have replaced the stock steering wheel
with an aftermarket wheel....What did you do with the yellow
wire and connector for the airbag? Did you cut the wire at the hub
to install the new steering wheel? Thanks.

Thats what I did, because the wheel would not fit on with that yellow connector. I imagine that I could have gone further down the steering column and disconnected it. I do not plan to reverse the process.
I also have a "CHEVROLET" horn button to replace that hidious looking MOMO button.
