There is a tech tip here that talks about removing the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator for more HP. Anyone tried it? Does it work? Pro/Cons? Thanks...
Don't do it. The vacuum source is there to raise fuel pressure with RPM's. Unplugging the line gives you WOT fuel pressure all the time. You then have no pressure increase as you rev your motor- not to mention possibly running rich at lower RPM's.
Hi.
Siveck is right about the pressure.
The important thing is that the regulator gives you max pressure when you load the engine and it runs fast. At idle it is important that the pressure is reduced and especiall if you do not have new injectors as it might run rich and the idle will be hunting
