Default Opti and other stuff installed, running....

about as strong as the 'ole girl has run. Did the modified opti, neew water pump, new coil, new coil wire, new ignition module. A heads up, after all is done, and that would be I think it may have been the coil wire. Upon inspection, I noticied that the little porcelin washer disk around the inside of the distributor side plug boot was missing. Could have been arching and causing the missing and back firing. Anyway, after a bunch of bucks in parts, I am grinning from ear to ear...I mean this thing is pretty peppie right now. Just make sure the parts guy gives you the coil wire for an LT1, not a camaro. The later is about 2 inches too short for any use....-C4- :flag :rolleyes:

My MSD wires didn't come with the nylon inserts like the OE wires had on SOME of the terminals. As far as the coil wire goes, there wasn't any insert in the opti side of the wire. What did the inside of the opti-spark look like? Any rust or moisture? Glad to hear it's a going machine again. :hurray:

No rust or corrosion that I saw, but then again, we pretty much tore this thing apart to look at it. We got two of the screws out, and then took two baseball bat sized screw drivers and just pried. What I did see was a lot of carbon and some pretty worn contact points...-C4-
