im told mine is bad but car still seems to run fine but anyway its a cheap part so i will do it my ???? is should i replace it with a lt4 one i do have a lt1 in a 94 c4 but i was told the lt4 one is better?
I believe you are right that the LT4 knock sensor is a little less sensitive than that in the LT1 so has been used in LT1s where false knock detection is a problem.

what are the symptoms with your car? Heavy pulling of timing or something?
Is your "Service Engine Soon" light on? Knock sensors are a pain to change because as soon as you pull them the block starts draining all of the coolant. If your light isn't on, they might not be bad. My light came on and threw a code to tell me the sensors were bad.
i was running a 13.59 /13.62 @ 105/104 i got a new performance trans and stall and ran 3 13.7s at 99 and a 100 so i told the guy about and he just said that my knock senser is bad or going bad dont no how he came up with that but i will try it before i say anything about the trans

 I don't know how he came up with that either. It's possible that something is loose in the tranny and making noise and the knock sensor thinks it hears knock and is applying retard thus making less HP which would explain the slower 1/4 mile times.
Your ET issue could be due to launch with the new TC; try launching at a higher RPM to pre-load the chassis & drive train.
But that drop of 4-5mph off trap speed corresponds to a loss of around 40-50 hp! Of course climate can make a big difference but usually not that much.
A scan tool will tell the story about knock; it's the only way to be realy sure.
im hooked up to a snapon scan tool it says with everything hooked im getting o degree of knock at 650 rpm once i start to drive it starts retarding the more gas the more retard 5 7 11 17 wot hit retard of 21 20 and it says im gettting knock yes 2 to 3 times in wot at 1/4 mile run on what some else said unplug them and they shouldnt do anything i unpluged them and the car did the same exact thing except it never seen knock but still did all that retarding any help
the knock sensor is the same for LT1 and LT4.. referring to the actual sensor in the block.
The module however is different and this is what you change if you want to have the less sensitive LT4 module. The module inserts on the bottom side of the PCM/ECM.

actually the knock sensors of LT1 and LT4's are not the same .. (except in '96). OBDII knock sensors have a different resistance than do OBDI knock sensors... so 92-95 LT1 knock sensors are not the same.
Reason i know this - i had to add resistors to my OBDI computer to use in my LT4 because otherwise the knock sensors won't work right.
