I'm not familiar with Taylor wires, but I've always lubed mine with hand cleaner. It cleans right off after you get the boots on. I suppose you could use Di-electric grease as well.

I picked up a set of the cut-your-self Taylor spiro-pro's and I cannot get the optispark boots on the wires to save my life.
Any tips?

I always thought it would be best to get a universal set, since the fitted sets always seem to be an inch or two too long here and there for my liking. But I wasn't sure if me crimping them would be as good as Taylor doing it for me.
