help please!

I'm having a rubbing noise in my rear end. I checked the tire for scrubs and there aren't any. the faster I speed up the faster the noise sounds. Any help would be appreciated.

does it sound like rubber rubbing or a mechanical noise? it could be your parking brakes rubbing :yesnod:

You might lift and block the rear wheels off the ground, and turn them by hand, or under power, and check for the source of the noise.

It's an 86 with 71000 miles. And no marks on the tires from rubbing. The sound comes from the right rear.
