1.6 RR's
Question is should I swap them into my corvette? Taking them off of the impala is super easy it is a 77. But is it worth the time and effort on my 86 Vette?
Will they swap over? I mean can I put my vett's rockers on the impala?
Are the valve covers on the L98 hard to get off?
I imagine since they are both SBC and non roller motors that everything should swap. Any ideas? This would be basically a free mod.
those cheapo rockers arn't that much better than stock, really.
The good ones are cast aluminum... and they don't flex - at all. Plus, the manufacturing tolerances are much much better than anything stamped steel.
however, you put on the good roller's, it will be a 15+ hp mod. You must remember, the factory stamped steel parts are JUNK. They vary in ratio and flex like crazy at speed.
You will get to the rated power, plus some.
To do it right, you will need to replace the valve springs and pushrods.
The good rockers are $$$$ but if it is 15 HP that is not too bad for just a bolt on.
I will look at other ways to make the car faster. No more money to spend on it this year. Just got new exhaust...
