Has anyone installed coils-over shocks instead of the transverse leaf
spring in the front? How are they working in comparison? Where they cheaper than replacing a new leaf spring and where did you get them?
Citing the latest (July) issue of Corvette Fever-"10 Tips To Better Handling", page 64: "Get rid of the transverse leaf springs and mount up coilover shocks. Bilstein makes coilover shocks that bolt right into the stock shock mounts. With the high cost of replacement transverse leaf springs, this may not be as expensive a swap, and you can reduce the weight of the suspension by completely removing the leaf springs. Special bonus! With the coilovers, you can adjust the ride height of your Corvette for different tire and wheel packages in a matter of minutes. Try that with your leaf springs!".
Does this rationale make sense to you suspension gurus?
