Default Hypertech vs ed wright

Does anybody now if there is any difference between the Hypertech and the basic ed wright chip? This is for a car with just the simple mods (AFR, cut lid, headers, cat delete, flowmasters., etc) I probaly won't do anything serious in the way of mods for awhile and was wondering if one of these chips would make the ride a little nicer :D . IMHO Opening the exhaust up seemed to wake the car up a lil bit, I'm looking for an easy mod to gain some more light -to light gain without tearing into the motor just yet.

HyperChip is what I have and I can tell in the shifts and I get a Big long good pulling of the power band.. Very nice. I think we have pretty much the same setup..

Never had a Ed chip..

Must be about the same untill you get a programed prom from one of these Vette chip modders..

You don't need a chip. It won't gain you enough to justify the cost unless you can get one cheap on EBay. The stock program can handle the changes that you've made. When you start really getting into the intake side(manifold, cam etc.) is when you start running into problems. You should look at a chip as a way to make your components work together, not as a source for power in and of itself.

I dont think you need one with those mods.

Id just install a fan switch, and work on tuning it with the AFPR for optimum power, and id advance the timing.

For a little over $200, you could get some 1.6rr, that will probably add 10-15hp.

Ok, I got the hypertech stage II on Ebay for $25. + shipping, for that price I'll try it out. Plus I can still get the Comp pro magnum 1.6 RR's :D
I'll try the chip alone first and give feedback and let you all now if I wasted the $25.00 or not.

Be prepared to have your fans on every second the car is running. I got one on EBay a couple of years ago. I was selling it on EBay less than a week later
