I wasn't planning on doing my stroker motor until later in the year. However, since my recent clutch problems, I think I am just going to start now. I am going to do a 388 build-up on my '94 LT1. I have most all the parts except a few components- one of which is fuel injectors. What size would you recommend? 30lb or 36lb? Is there a standard(lbs to cubic inches). Any help is always appreciated.
I would start with 36's. I'm looking at going with at least a 30 for my 350 because the duty cycle is far too high with my current 24's. Knowing the duty cycle of my 350 I couldn't imagine running anything less than a 30 on a stroker. Of course cam choice is greatly going to affect fuel requirements.
Go by what kind of HP you anticipate making. For example, my engine DD2000 predicted 500hp. I never saw that, never got a chance to get the tune right. Anyhow, I did get it to run a 13.6@105, and was spraying a 150 dry shot to go 12.55@117. That was all on street tires, so the car should have run much quicker. I was running 30lbs FMS injectors with about 45 lbs of fuel pressure.
It is ONLY dependent on HP (intake/head flow). If your going to keep the same head stick with the current ones, but keep the fuel pressure as is. This of course you're the first person on this forum not to have project creep and end up with a work in progress...like me!!!!!!!!!!!!
