Default SYS on Display

My 91 vette had a hard time starting the other day. Seemed like it kept cutting out but I finally got it started. All the way home the display switched from my estimated range to the words SYS. I am guessing it might be the computer, but I had it replace about 1.5 years ago. Any ideas and how to fix it.

How old is your battery? Sometimes this happens when your ready for a new battery or have other electrical gremlins.

There is a whole host of reasons that the sys light would activate. You need to pull the codes from the CCM in order to find out what the problem is with the system. Keep us informed

Happened to me and it was the battery. When you start the engine, the current draw from the starter causes the battery output to drop below 9 volts which trips a number of electrical system sensors resulting in the "SYS" message. However, this is not the only causes. Lots of things non-engine related could trigger it including radio faults, etc.

Do a search on the subject. Lots of threads out there.
