Default Is an alignment needed after lowering a C4?


I'm thinking about lowering my car, i was wondering if i would need an alignment or not?

Yes. The rear will have much negative camber and the front is likely to have a bit as well. Depends on how much you value your tire life. If you autoX, then maybe not. Just get them to even them out, else at least get it back to within factory specs to prevent premature tire wear.

Any time you make changes to the steering geometry, an alignment is in order. The C4 is very sensitive to changes, even something as simple as replacing a worn tie rod end or ball joint would warrant having the alignment checked. I just got my car aligned last week, and it made a world of difference in how well it handles.

Every time you touch the suspension you should align it again. And lowering it will cause way to much camber and will wear out the insides of you tires.

Ya, i thought so, I'm sure the handling is better, but it doesn't look better for the tire life.

You can use the kits from Mid America...or Corvette Central.....Or Ecklers...Or etc....etc......
But these kits do not lower the front end enough.......maybe 3/4"......if that....just not worth the work involved to set-up......
