Default Help- do I need a bigger Throttle Body now????

Currently my horsepower peaks at 4700 and is gone by 5500rpm (*dynojet run on my webpage.) It's a supercharged 383 with long runner TPI: 52mm TB, ported stock plenum+base, SLP siamesed runners. Cam is 216/236* @ .514/.544" with 114LSA and should be good to 6000rpm.

I want to move the powerband up without killing too much low end, so I'm installing a SuperRam and spinning the blower up to 1100cfm @ 13psi. I see plenty of normally aspirated SuperRam/MiniRam motors running 58mm already. So how about you forced induction guys- any recommendations?

Perhaps you should post this in the Induction/Nitrous section to get your answers.

It's your runner length. When you put in the MiniRam or SuperRam you will gain RPM/horsepower. If you want HIGH RPM HP go for the MiniRam. Some love it - some don't. The TPIS insiders book covers all the different DYNOS for various intake set-ups.
Torque will move up about 1000-1500 RPM with the shorter intakes.

Don't make the TB change until you change the intake length. Then you can see if you need it.

Yeah, youll know if you need it when you install the SR or MR. The runners are killing your top end power.

You could really go with either, the SC will give the MR the low end it needs and the runners are so short that it will still be able to feed her at high rpms. The SR would be just as good, and if its an automatic thats the only choice IMO. I think the MR is better for a stick.

How about a set up like Big bore runners and a Bored Intake from TPIS on a stock opened up intake manifold with a 52mm throttle body..And all I have to start it with is a stock engine except a cut up airbox and a Hypertech chip and airfoil..

Sounds good but will this work out for me..

The stock intake manifold, even ported, is still restrictive and you still wouldnt need a 52mm. If you went with an aftermarket runners and base and have it all port matched, maybe.
