Default Anyone ever pull a hypertech program?

I was just thinking about it today, has anybody ever pulled the hypertech program and actually looked at it?

People claim they don't do anything, and I fully believe those claims. I'm just wondering if anybody has taken a chip and proven this.

Along those same lines, anyone know how to hack the Programmer Plus so it can be used on multiple VIN's ? I have a lot of friends that would just like their activation temps changed for the fans. Would like to help them out...

I have my hypertech code on my pc right now a couple of different options too i believe .. You know how you can change the different parameters with the hypertech.. Only problem is with tunercat which i use there are some tables that hypertech must change that you cannot see with tunercat.. for example the change in the firmness of shift is done on a table not visible in tunercat because i have compared every table in tunercat with my stock and hypertech program and I see no differences in these tables.. However I feel there are probalby several ways to change this and the tuner cat willl allow you to do it with line pressure etc.. where hypertech does it elsewhere.. Not sure on that though .. You can however see the changes in spark advance which is the main supposed performance gain from the hypertech..

Not Hypertech, but I pulled the .bin off the ADS Superchip that was in my '88. The only real difference in the tune vs. the stock program (besides the fan on/off temps and TCC changes) was a modification to the MAF tables that would cause a general richening of the fuel mixture (pretty substantial richening in some places and lots of flat spots where the flow was the same in several cells-??) and an increase of SA at high loads above 1400 RPM.

The increase in timing averaged about 5 degrees over the already-agressive ARAP spark tables! Ping Ping Ping!!

Absolute piece of junk.

I have a hypertech that you can look at if you like. I agree that the only changes i could find are spark related though. Didn't find anything to do with automatic pressures.

No way i'm basing my custom program off of that, lol!

I changed my shift firmness in Tunercat using the "Force Motor Current Vs. Press Vs. Trans Temp" tables (not sure why there are two tables, "+ change" and "- change"), but the LOWER the number, the firmer the shift. I have yet to play w/ line pressures though...

I SURE wish there were "User Guides" for Tunercat and Lt1edit...the HELP feature just plain SUCKS!\

On my 85, the only change I saw was that WOT at the TPS was brought in much sooner. That was it except for the fan setting.... :lurk:
