Another "Do i need a 58mm throttle body?" question.
Well the title says it all and ive been looking in the archives but i wanna make sure. I have a 383 with exhaust, ignition, intake, gears, and havent installed my nos kit but it will be jetted at 100 shot. I wanna know if the 58mm throttle body is not too "big" for my setup right now. thanks guys. :steering:

What cam and heads are you running on that combo? I would tend to think for a 383, the 52mm would be a better choice. You say you changed the intake? What did you change it to? Also, what year is your car?

If you're running a naturally aspirated 383, being optimistic on peak volumetric efficiency (100% assuming is a well built motor), you'd need to be spinning at least 7000 rpm to need bigger than a 52mm. If you are spinning over 7000 rpm, but not much over, I'd look into the 54mm TBs (I think AS&M builds one...don't remember who else), because a 58 is WAY too big for your motor.
