('86) Center console light flickers on/off

('86) Center console light flickers on/off
When I open the center console in my '86, ... the little light on the console lid flickers on/off. If I hold the lid open fully, then the light will sometimes stay on. Anyone have this problem? Does it just need a new bulb? Who sells them?

The bulbs can be found in any auto store.Easy to take out.BUT,had a similar problem with this on my 86 too...turned out the wires inside there that snake back into the lower side console was wearing out.They began to break from all the years of open/close of the door.Check the wiring for any shorts or breaks in the insulation.You can take the plastic cover off that has the RPO sticker if needed and follow the wires all the way back.Maybe its a loose bulb too.

Mine does it, but i dont care enough about it to fix it.
Its a bad connection most likely.

Yep, Same here. Must be very common thing for us. But like the previous. Have not cared enough to fix it. May be why my battery ends up dead after sitting for a week.
