Help finding a cam?
I want to get a Cam to make my car sound louder (and i wouldn't mind a few extra horses). It's a 1986 L82 engine. I never take it to the track, just want it to sound intimidating. Does anyone have a cam that they ordered from jegs or summitracing (or anywhere for that matter) that they are happy with? If so, i'd REALLY appriciate the part numbers i'm going to need to buy to take to a mechanic. Is there anything else i need to buy to get the cam installed (like a special glue or some rubberbands)? Please keep responses somewhat simple since i can't even tell you what a cam looks like... :crazy:

That's another question for u guys i guess... what would u speculate that an L82 is doing in a 1986 Vette?
So no one bought a cam for that engine and can help me out?

THe L82 is a carb motor, the stock engine (L98) is fuel-injected.
What cam you pick depends on what power you want. By itself it wont make the car that much louder unless you go super-aggressive. To make it louder you want no mufflers and/or longtube headers.
