Default erratic idle at startup

I have a 95 LT-1 Vette and lately, I've noticed that after I start it up and go down the road, it seems to idle lower and sputter (?) when I get to the first stop light. I can put it back into neutral and rev it a couple of times and it seems to be fine from then on. I've only noticed this when I'm getting off of work in the afternoon and this problem doesn't seem to come up when I start it first thing in the morning. The optispark has already been changed along with the spark plugs and cables (may as well do that while you're there) about 6 months ago and this has just come up recently. Once every 2 or 3 weeks, I'll be driving and the "service engine" light will come on with no noticeable problems. Could this be related?

It might be related...you should check what code is being set with the check engine light. That will give you a clue as to what the problem might be...

It almost sounds like your EGR valve might be sticking.

How do I check the codes? The "check engine" light goes away if I turn the key off, then back on, then I won't see it again for another 2 or 3 weeks. Where is this EGR valve? Thanks, Guys!
