Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Freeze12 is an R134 blend. Mix it with R12 and you get much higher operating pressures. Be sure the high pressure switch is in good order - Always hard to tell since it won't open until about 400 psi. If it doesn't - KABOOM. Stick with one or the other. If changing over, flush and add a new Drier.

It's legal and it was about 3 bucks a can at Autozone or NAPA and a buck or so pound for a 12lb bottle, but not worth the $10,000 fine for trying to smuggle it in. At one point, it was rumored that most shops in San Diego kept a steady supply coming in, charging the outrageous price that followed the gov't's ban. That was 9 years ago. With tightened border security and little demand for it (most of the cars that still use it aren't worth fixing if it were free), those stories have died down. Now, most of the shops would like to get rid of it - before all the storage tanks rust and start venting into the atmosphere - an even bigger fine if the EPA finds that condition in their shop. Haven't heard any stories that it's now going back to Mexico, but considering disposal costs, who knows.
