How alike are the T-10 and the Super T-10 in the 4+3? Would a T-10 bolt up to the motor just like the 4+3? Would it be feasable to swap in a T-10 into a 4+3 car and just have the drive shaft lengthened to occomodate?
Not considering doint this or anything... just something my friend and I have BSed about before and I wonder if anyone else has thought about it..
Also, what about the "Rock Crusher" 4-speed tranny? I know it is supposed to be REALLY strong and it was in a truck I think... not sure.. What about that one though as a candidate swap-in?
:iagree: The Super T-10 is the better trans, the T-10 is rather weak. the Torque-beam is the problem with any trans swap. I'd like to have the Richmond 5-speed instead of my 4+3, it's very strong. The M-22 Rockcrusher was avaliable in some high HP Chevys, like the SS 454 Chevelle, and probably the L-88 Vette. It was strong for the time, but it did have straight-cut gears which were noisy.
