I have a 1986 that sits very low in the front and scrapes on the slightest incline. Does anybody know How to determine if the front leaf spring is worn out. Should only a new spring installation be considered or is a used spring worthwhile? I have heard that the aftermarket springs are problamatic.
Hey Jerry D,
I wish my front end was low..........did you figuer out if it was the spring...if I were you I would leave it alone...just get new shocks (Koni's)...and set it up to get the best attitude...we're all after that.....

The only way it should be sitting too low is if the front spring is delaminating. You can get under there and youll see it cracking if that has happened. Only way to fix is replacement, shocks going bad can cause it to lower somewhat also but its mainly the spring.
