Default Hard Start-Ups when COLD

Made lots of mods to motor, but after putting all back together, 3 years ago now, I have had a problem with start-ups after the car has sat for a period of 6 hours or more during cold weather. Changed all the sensors, still nothing. Question: I attached a fuel pressure gauge to ck the pressure in the AM, down to 0, but when i turn the key it jumps right up to 46, where I set it. Is the pressure supposed to drop??, it actually dropped to 0 about 2 hours after I shut the car off. Only way I can get to fire up immediately on cold mornings is to close the loop on the wires to the temp. sensor in the front of the intake manifold which I know controls the amount of fuel at start-up. Member mentioned to change the ecm, are there parmeters in the ecm that aren't in the prom portion of it that control fuel at start-up? Any other suggestions or switch the ecm is the question????
Thanks to all whom reply!!! Problem for 3 years now!!!

It would be cheaper to change the temp sensor in the front of the block.

Tried that twice, replaced 2 times just in case one may have been bad. Still no luck.
