Hmm? How are you trying to hook it up? My sender unit wasn't even the right threads to go to the schrader valve. Mine is off of a couple of adapters forming an elbow.
I was wondering about going that way.. Maybe I'll visit HomeDepot.
Only thing is I don't want to use Teflon Sealer on the threads anywhere in the fuel system. Did you get special adapters to form the elbow? got a pic? :D
No teflon no nothing!!! If your sender is like mine it gets its ground from the fuel rail and needs to have clean thread to thread contact. I have a pic somewhere. I got them from summit, I think they are Aeroquip fittings or something like that.
I removed the core only. Then there is a female to female adapter, a 90* elbow and then a female to female adapter to change threads to the sending unit.
I used a 90* female-female with swivel ends, then the adapter. Got Aeroquip stuff from my local Loper's Performance. Here's the pic... and it will fit with the SuperRam I'm currently installing.
Now do you guys replace the actual shraeder valve? As I see it has a pin that has to be pushed in to get the FP through it. I presume the first adapter replaces the actualy shrader valve. right?
Found mine. Don't pay attention to the teflon paste on there. That was from before I knew the unit got its ground from the rail.
Mine requires removing the core of the schrader only. I'm going to do something this year so that I can have the scrader, my nitrous hookup, and the FP sender.

You remove the valve stem from the inside (same tool Discount Tire uses); because obviously the fuel can't exert pressure on your sender with the valve in there. But you leave the outside; the adapter screws onto it.
