I am getting ready to drop in my LT1 and need some advice on the distributor. I got the motor out of a running F-body and rebuilt it (and a couple of goodies Hotcam, Ported heads/intake, electric water pump) any way I am going to replace the distributor. My question is I can get the dist for $145 without the module, can I reuse my module with ant reliability?

I would replace the complete dist. It's not worth going back to replace it after what your doing. Why put an old used part (opti) back on a rebuilt engine and have to tear it apart if it becomes a problem. It's not like the top mounted dist. which is a easy fix.

Opti's are more in the $400 range, unless you have one of those conversions to use a standard distributor.
